Even before I knew the word writer, I wanted to be one. 

At the age of six, I became so enchanted with a book I was reading, I asked my mom, “What do you call people who do this?” pointing to the words on the page. “A writer,” she answered, and I declared, "I will be a writer when I grow up!"

Six-year-old me would be happy to know I’m now a freelance content marketing writer, copywriter, editor, and poet, doing business as Morning Owl Writing Services, LLC. I have more than 20 years of experience, most recently as a senior copywriter with an Oregon-based health insurer, and prior to that, as a travel writer and editor of AAA Colorado's member magazine.

My niches include health & wellness, mental health, spirituality, mindfulness, climate & environment, and poetry—and the intersections of those topics.

In addition to real-life experience, I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colorado in General Writing (English, business writing, and PR).

When I’m not writing, I enjoy reading, gardening, live music, and snuggling with my three rescue mutts.
